This course was developed by a multidisciplinary team of colleagues from the Department of Health Personnel, the Department of Communicable Disease Control (DCDC), the University of Health Sciences (UHS) and the Faculty of Agriculture, Lao PDR, with funding from SEAOHUN and USAID.

Course materials: The course consists of 04 modules of approximately one hour each.
- Module 1) Introduction to One Health
- Module 2) Human-animal-environment interactions
- Module 3) Evidence-based approaches in One Health
- Module 4) Implementing One Health strategies
Each topic includes some additional resources that we think you will find interesting - click on the resource collections in each section to learn more about specific points.
Target audience:
- Frontline health workers, including doctors, nurses, public health officers and other health workers directly involved in patient care and public health management.
- Public health policy makers: Officials involved in the development of health policies, particularly those at the interface of human, animal and environmental health.
- Community health workers: Individuals working at grassroots level, often the first point of contact in rural and remote areas.
Course assessment: Each module has a series of quizzes to test your understanding of some of the concepts in that topic. In the final module you will see that you can obtain a certificate of completion - the requirements for this are to access the resources in each section and to pass the quiz at the end with a minimum score of 80%.
This is a self-paced course that you can complete at your own pace. We encourage you to reflect on the topics and perhaps take notes as you go along, as this is a good way of ensuring that you are able to internalise the information presented and the lessons to be learnt.
